Should Shakespeare be read in an eloquent tone, or more naturally?

I'm just wondering what your take is. Should one act Shakespeare with a bit of a mellifluous tone, or in an actor's casual, natural voice? Or maybe a combination of the two? I find that I try to make it more casual, but the open vowels and flowing tone creep their way in there with the verse. But I want some other opinions.
