Would it be weird if Edgar Allan Poe was a vampire?

I'm writing a book and I want to make Edgar Allan Poe a vampire. Here's what I'm thinking, the picture we know of Poe was actually his best friend Michael Smith and Poe is actually a 20 something vampire. ^_^
