Writing a book?

Anyone out there know how I would go about writing a book? Well, let me rephrase. The writing part I got covered, but the publishing, editing and marketing is what's got me stumped. Also, what are the start up costs for a venture like this? What kind of investments (time & money) am I looking at? I really don't know what's involved, it's just something I'd like to do in this lifetime.
